This is the song I listen to when I’m sad. I think it must be this part

I got a flask inside my pocket, we can share it on the train
And if you promise to stay conscious I will try and do the same
We might die from medication, but we sure killed all the pain

Whenever your sad, for whatever reason, you can understand that. It’s not so amazing musically but the lyrics are what makes the song – as with so many other bright eyes songs – and it has a really calming effect. It feels really personal too, like Conor Oberst is letting you into his life.

I don’t really know how to explain it I just know it’s a really amazing song.
