Kava Kava

This one’s for all the fans of dance music out there.

Kava Kava are a Huddersfield band who have recently been enjoying some success stateside. They’ve had three tracks featured on US TV show, Dirt. As it says on their myspace, ‘not one, but three’. You know, just in case we read that they’d had three and thought, ‘oh, so they’ve really had one‘. No. Not one, but three.

They’ve previously played at SXSW and Glastonbury and last year the band was also featured as one of only 24 artists in the soundtrack to HBO’s ‘John From Cincinnati’ (and that was alongside Muse, Elvis Costello, Joe Strummer, U2, David Byrne, Kasabian, TV On The Radio and Bob Dylan)

Impressive stuff. But the question is, is the music actually any good? And the answer is, yes!

Personally, I wouldn’t put it on my ipod. But that is because i’m not really a fan of dance music unless it’s french! However, I can appreciate what is good dance music and what is bad dance music and this is definately great! If i was a DJ in an dance club, I know I’d put it on.
