So I interviewed Tokyo Police Club last month and I thought it time to give my  thoughts on the album. I’ve had it for two months now so I’ve listened to every song, absorbed the general feel, tried to work out what on earth the lyrics mean (they’re pretty cryptic!) and I have come to the conclusion that I love it!

It’s just a really really likeable album. You could play it in the car, before you go to bed, when you’re having a singalong and it just works. And yet, it’s not boring. Greg Alsop on drums could carry the band by himself! Not that he has to, the other 3 have clearly been putting the effort in. This album is full of pure indie pop that even my little brother loves.

Highlight track? For me, it has to be Listen to the Math. The vocals are smooooth, the lyrics are confusing and I can’t be the only one who accidentally begins singing it in public spaces. Juno isn’t half bad either – someone buy Greg Alsop some champagne. That drumming is excellent.

As one fan puts it ‘I’m a sucker for well placed hand claps, and this album has them!’

Touché.
